a better future. BACKGROUND: The International Rescue Committee
(IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps
people to survive and rebuild their lives. At work in over 40
countries and 28 U.S. cities to restore safety, dignity and hope,
the IRC leads the way from harm to home. The IRC in Tallahassee
office was established in 2015 and has resettled over 1,500
refugees from 50 countries into Tallahassee, Florida. SCOPE OF
EMPLOYMENT INTERN WORK: The Employment Intern will work with the
Employment team to assist eligible refugee clients find jobs and
prepare them to enter the workforce by providing supporting
services, while also completing clerical work such as data entry
and case file organization. The hours for this position are
flexible; however, will primarily be between 9AM and 5PM on
weekdays, with occasional weekend activities. Please note that all

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Employment Program Intern will assist the
Employment Program Supervisor with the following tasks: Research
potential employers and community partners as it relates to
Employment Program Work one-on-one with refugee clients by
conducting job readiness counseling and training Assist clients in
filling out online and paper applications Accompany refugee clients
to job interviews and orientations Assist Employment Specialists by
entering case notes and other data entry into relevant databases
Assist Employment Specialists by creating and maintaining client
case files. Provide general administrative support for Economic
Empowerment team Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: Strong
interest in working with an international population Proficiency
with employment related activities Proven ability to work with
consideration and respect for cross-cultural differences Excellent
communication and organization skills Ability to work independently
Computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs and internet
research Enthusiasm for helping people to learn and demonstrated
professionalism Must have a valid driver’s license and access to an
insured vehicle REQUIREMENTS: Must pass a background check Must be
at least 18 years old Minimum commitment of 15 hours per week for a
minimum of 3 consecutive months. Submit intern hours on volunteer
dashboard This will be an in-person role. The internship will be
filled on a rolling basis. We will continue to accept applications
until April 10 th , 2026, or until the position is filled,
whichever occurs first. Internship will begin the week of May 11 th
, 2026 . This position will report to the Employment Specialist
