Job Description Job Description Position Summary: This position test, services, and repairs fire systems for municipal, residential, and commercial customer accounts. Position Responsibilities: Service, repair and install all systems based on customers’ orders. Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details, such as the causes and consequences of false alarms. Test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications. Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation. Complete and submit all service call related documents. Keep an orderly vehicle and accurate inventory stock levels. Various projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Position Requirements: High school diploma (or equivalent). Technical school training and/or certification is preferred. One year of experience with the fire systems is preferred. One year of experience in low voltage wiring is preferred. Must have flexibility to travel and work overtime when needed. Comfortable with computers and Microsoft Suite (intermediate Excel, Word, and Outlook). IT and networking experience is a plus. Current BASA/FASA certification is preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Strong communication and customer service skills. Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Telecommunications - Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems. Complex Problem Solving — Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Problem Sensitivity — The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing that there is a problem.
