The Impact You'll Have: Alliant Engineering has a great opportunity to join our Survey team as a Senior Survey Crew Chief! The Senior Survey Crew Chief supports the survey department by providing measurement and mapping for preparation of typical projects such as existing condition topographic, boundary, easement, plats, as-built surveys and construction staking. Responsibilities: Adjusts and operates surveying instruments Operates and manages field computer uploading, downloading and storing data Analyzes, compiles notes and data obtained from surveying into computer in the field or in the office Performs duties such as staking, clearing brush or carrying equipment Requires working technical knowledge of measuring and mapping and data collection practices Requires proficiency with appropriate technology and computer software such as Total Station, Global Positioning System (GPS) or Differential Leveling related to field Performs specific technical assignments as directed by the Land Surveyor Professional Attainments: L.S.I.T. or Technical certification is desirable but not required Qualifications: Education: High school diploma required. Secondary education from a two-year technical school in survey technology or equivalent field training and experience preferred Five (5) plus years of previous crew chief experience License/Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Florida driver's license and a driving record acceptable for insurability Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by you to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
