To learn more about Berry, visit Responsibilities Primarily responsible for assisting the HR Manager as needed in most functional areas of HR. Provides customer service to employees and applicants relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc. More complex questions will be referred to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management. Assists with talent management for hourly associates and temporary associates. Tracks status of all candidates in ATS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process (post jobs, collect and vet resumes, conduct phone screens, schedule interviews, manage offers of employment, send welcome emails, coordinate new hire orientation). Initiate background and drug screening for applicants chosen to join the plant as FTEs. Serves as the backup for payroll processing, answering employee questions, correcting processing errors, and distributing checks. Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resources files and records. Assists with planning and execution of employee engagement and special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties and retirement celebrations. Assists with preparation and conducting of new hire orientation. Assists HR Manager with processing of payroll for temporary associates. Assists with preparation of FMLA/ADA documents and tracking of employee status while on FMLA/ADA. Assists with unemployment claims. Assist with various projects and other duties as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with an emphasis in Human Resources a plus. SHRM Certified Professional credential (SHRM-CP) a plus. Prefer 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources. Payroll experience a plus. Strong analytical and interpretive skills. Must have a passion for Human Resources.
