leader of the oil-free centrifugal compressor product category with
its award winning Variable Speed, Magnetic Bearing Compressors,
Danfoss Turbocor, Tallahassee FL, is dedicated to the design,
manufacture, marketing and support of the world's most efficient
commercial refrigerant compressors. The result is the world's first
totally oil-free compressor specifically designed for the HVAC
industry. Power Electronics Engineering is pivotal in further
enhancing the efficiency of compressors and making them more rugged
and reliable for long term use in high availability installations
like Data center cooling, comfort cooling and process cooling
applications. The Electronics Engineering team is working on
multiple projects to develop new variable speed motor drive
platform and magnetic levitation bearing electronics for our next
generation of products. The successful candidate will play an
integral part in developing this new exciting platform based on
industry leading technologies.This is an onsite position at our
Turbocor Global Headquarters in Tallahassee, FL.Job
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities for this position include, but are
not limited to, the following:Technical responsibility in all
aspects of power electronics design includingProduct/Component
requirementsComponent selection and evaluationCircuit design,
analysis and debugging (analog, digital and power converters)PCB
layout design and manufacturing documentationComponents, circuits,
modules and system integrationFunctional/Reliability verification
and validationProduct certification support (e.g. IEC, UL, CSA, CE,
FCC, etc---)Production Test SpecificationsFailure mode root cause
analysis and corrective actionsResponsible for maintaining up to
date knowledge of development environment, simulation tools and
industry trendsWork collaboratively within the team and with other
teams at Danfoss TurbocorParticipate in new technology research and
development projects as requestedDomestic and international travel
up to 15%Background & SkillsRequired QualificationsMinimum
bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering with
minimum of 3 years of experience in power electronicsSound
knowledge and experience in traditional and modern power electronic
technologies including (not limited to):Inverter technology for
motor variable speed drive (IGBT, MOSFET, rectifiers and gate
driver PWM/PAM technologies)Passive power components, e.g.
inductors, capacitors, resistors and transformers.Experience with
Power Amplifier design using IGBTs preferredExperience with test
equipment like Multimeters, Oscilloscope etcExperience in circuit
simulation, transient analysis and thermal cycling analysisAbility
to setup tests and experiments for analyzing failures and
determining root causeAbility to present analyzed data and
gathering feedback from peersKnowledgeable and well informed on new
trends in IGBT and Driver TechnologiesAble to contribute as a
member of an organized project team of engineersStrong analytical
and technical skills with a thirst to learn morePreferred
QualificationsMaster of Science degree in Electrical / Electronics
Engineering with focus on Power ElectronicsExperience with Motor
and Power converters (AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC, DC-bus Soft charging)
control technologiesExperience in control circuit and system
simulation tools (PSpice, MATLAB, PSIM) preferredInformed on
current trends in emerging electronic technologiesOpen to working
