Job Description:

The MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation is seeking a full time Development/Communications Assistant to provide administrative support for the Development and Community Relations department. This position reports to the Community Relations Manager and assists several team members with tasks including database management, donor relations, marketing and communication, and event assistance.Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist with donor management (maintaining donor database, email database, sending donor thank you letters, donor invoice management, donor/grant research, etc.)Manage social media postings, take photos, manage photo log Assist with designing, creating, and proofreading content for both print and web, including website, blog, e-newsletter, correspondence, flyers, promotional materials, press releases, etc.Manage mailings to sponsors in student sponsorship program Assist with planning and executing special fundraising events, including the annual gala (silent auction, social media, promotions, etc.) Assist with annual appeal creation, mailing, and follow up Qualifications Natural writer; excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong social media skills (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube) Good interpersonal skills with the ability to speak professionally about the organization Expert in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, etc.) Donor management/email database knowledge, Network for Good & Constant Contact preferred Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, or other design software preferred Very high attention to detail, including accuracy and efficiency Self-Starter with a proactive nature and ability to problem solve Collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done Organization and time management skills Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events/special projects as needed Commitment to youth development and the mission High comfort level working in a diverse environment Education & Experience - Entry Level Bachelors Degree or AA degree in related field 1 year experience in community relations, fundraising, nonprofit, or related work preferred Willingness to complete DCF required trainings during first year of employment Must have a current Florida driver's license and a 3 year clean Florida driving record Meet DCF qualification for Level 2 Background Screening & pass a drug test Please submit cover letter and resume to terri@
