Job Title: MRI Technologist Profession: MRI Technologist Specialty: MRI Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Monday-Thursday Hours per Shift: 10 hours (10:00 AM - 8:30 PM) Experience: Minimum 3 years of MRI experience License: Required MRI license Certifications: ARRT (M), BLS Must-Have: 1 year of MRI experience Experience with Siemens equipment; Philips experience preferred Travel experience is preferred Level II trauma experience is a bonus Description: Candidates will work in a department with a total of 4 scanners. Agency will staff 2 scanners. There is also a mobile unit available. Travelers will not be required to float to other areas. Common types of imaging studies performed include musculoskeletal imaging and basic neuro studies. The department also handles many abdominal and pelvic scans, radiation oncology, and breast imaging. Technologists will encounter pacer and anesthesia patients, as well as ICU and NICU patients. The average number of scans performed per day is 30 due to lengthy protocols. The department uses PACS for record-keeping. Department specific equipment primarily includes Siemens and will soon include Philips. A full-time supervisor is present on each shift. There may not be a lead tech scheduled, but a senior tech will be available. There are plans to hire Registered Radiology Assistants. Radiologists are available during the daytime. IV starts are required in this department. Typically, four 10-hour shifts are scheduled. Weekend and holiday work is required only if hired for those shifts. The department typically handles 10-14 inpatient scans and 4-8 outpatient scans per day on weekends. Technologists will wear black scrubs with a black or gray jacket.
